We’re passionate locals who have been part of the Northcote fabric for over two decades and now we’re finally opening our own doors. North Star Barbershop combines premium barbering with a deep-seated love for our community.
Our Master Barber brings 18 years of mastery to our female owned barbershop. We’ve always believed the best haircuts happen in a space where everyone, no matter who you are, feels welcome and at home.

Classic short back and sides with clippers, scissor work on top. Finished off with a hot towel.
FADE | $60
40 mins
Skin or zero fade on the sides, with scissor or clipper work on top. Finished off with a hot towel.
BUZZCUT | $30
20 mins
A straightforward service, using clippers only to achieve a uniform length all over with one guard. For example, number 1 all over. Finished with a hot towel.
SCISSOR HAIRCUT | $60
40 mins
Tailored towards mid length or longer styles using scissors only. Resulting in a softer, more natural finish. This technique allows for greater precision and is more advanced.
RE-STYLE | $80

This service is tailored for a complete transformation. If you are switching from long to short or changing up your style. Finished off with a hot towel.
LONG HAIR | $80
30 mins
This service is tailored for long hair where the hair sits or extends past the shoulders. Service includes cut only, not blow waved or styled. These cuts can range from trims, layers, textured cuts and fringe or shaping around the face.
BEARD TRIM – ONE LENGTH | $30
20 mins
A basic beard trim which involves clippers and trimmers only. One length all over and sharpen up the edges. For short lengths only. Finished with a hot towel.
ADVANCED BEARD TRIM | $35

This service is for longer beards. A more refined experience which may involve the use of trimmers, clipper work or scissor work to shape and fade bears. Beards can be tailored to short, medium or longer lengths with razor finish.
HOT TOWEL RAZOR FACE SHAVE | $60

A classic hot towel shave experience with a straight razor service. Starting with a hot towel to soften the hair and open pores. This procedure ensures a close and smooth shave. Finished with aftershave and moisturiser to suit.
HOT TOWEL RAZOR SCALP SHAVE | $55

Starting off with a hot towel, followed by a close straight razor shave for a smooth scalp. Finished with a moisturiser for extra smoothness.
KIDS UNDER 15 HAIRCUT | $50
20 mins
Classic short back and sides with clippers, scissor work on top for kids 15 and under. Finished off with a hot towel.

With over 18 years behind the chair and a qualified Trainer and Assessor, Age is a highly experienced barber known for her precision, consistency and creativity, alongside a deeply personal approach to client care and service. Technical and methodical by nature, she is equally skilled at tailoring each cut to the individual. What Age loves the most about barbering, is the way her clients walk out the door transformed with confidence and a big smile.
OUR STORY
Some things were always meant to happen. This one starts with us, Jools and Age. Two best mates, Northcote locals and a dream that’s been circling High Street for over twenty years. We’ve built memories, made connections and community on this street. Countless hangs, late-night debriefs, big ideas thrown around with even bigger conviction. For years it was, “imagine if we …” until one day the dream became North Star Barbershop.
Age is a Master Barber and Trainer & Assessor with 18+ years behind the chair. Precision is her language. Craft is second nature. She’s sharp on the tools, big on detail, and believes a barbershop is more than just where you get a haircut, but a hub built on trust, quality service and connection.
Jools works behind the scenes, shaping the bigger picture. With 25 years experience in leading teams and building strong foundations, she brings structure and long-term vision. She’s the systems, the strategy, the steady hand turning bold ideas into something built to last.
Together, we’ve created a space that reflects who we are and where we’re from – warm, inclusive and deeply connected to community. As a proudly female-owned and led barbershop, North Star is about quality, service and creating a culture where everyone feels welcome and comfortable in the chair. This isn’t just a new shop on High Street. It’s the continuation of friendships, community and a love for this neighbourhood that’s been growing for decades.
